Animal Encounters

Between Forest and Window is

a photographic sequence

observing wildlife as presence

rather than subject.

The images trace moments

where animals and human space quietly intersect —

without pursuit, without possession.

Distance, stillness, and ethical restraint

shape the act of looking.

Mid-flight, the bird and its reflection briefly align,

turning movement into meditation.

Perched between branch and sky,

the heron gathers itself into stillness,

as if time were briefly allowed to rest.

Departure leaves no trace,

only distance.

stillness carrying quiet vigilance.

Two deer share an open field,

distance and connection held in natural balance.

A wild deer appears at a human window —

a silent encounter at the threshold between dwelling and forest.
